File Transfer
File Transfer ("we", "our", or "the App") is a local network file transfer application for iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.
Summary
File Transfer is designed to keep your data on your devices and local network. We do not operate cloud servers to store, process, or analyze your files, photos, messages, or other content. Data transferred through the App stays between your phone and devices on the same local network.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect or transmit to our servers:
- Files you send or receive
- Photos, videos, or other media from your gallery
- Messages or attachments exchanged through the App
- Your browsing activity within the web interface
- Account credentials (the App does not require an account)
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The App may store the following information locally on your phone:
- App settings (device name, port number, password, theme, language preference)
- Received file records and message history
- Widget display data (connection status, LAN address, file count)
This data remains on your device unless you delete it through the App or uninstall the App. We do not have access to this locally stored data.
Permissions
The App may request the following device permissions to provide its features:
- Local network access — to run the HTTP server and allow browser connections on your Wi‑Fi network
- Photo library — to browse, save, and share photos and videos through gallery features
- File access — to pick, receive, and manage files on your device
- Camera — if you choose to capture photos or scan QR codes (when applicable)
You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings. Some features may not work without the relevant permission.
Local Network Transfers
When you start the transfer service, your phone acts as a server on your local network. Other devices on the same network (such as your computer browser) can connect using the displayed address. You may optionally enable password protection for this connection.
Data exchanged over the local network is not routed through our servers. You are responsible for ensuring you trust the network you connect to.
Third-Party Services
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Those platforms may collect information according to their own privacy policies. The App uses open-source libraries (such as the Flutter framework and various plugins) that operate locally on your device and do not send your personal content to us.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Data Security
Because your data stays on your device and local network, security depends largely on your network environment and optional password settings within the App. We recommend using trusted Wi‑Fi networks and enabling password protection when available.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
